2024 IS UPON US...

What a year. How is it almost over already? Everyone on the team knocked it out of the park. And our team grew this year. Which, if you haven't noticed, makes it trickier to manage everything as a whole. Mo' money, mo' problems?

We know we can do better. For each of you individually, for our clients, and for the company as a whole. Please share your advice and opinions here to help make 2024 even better than 2023.

12 months ago, we shifted from Trello to Height and it looks like we’re not turning back.

What features of Height seem to be working well?

We introduced Getting Things Done as a methodology that helps individuals break down large goals into actionable tasks.

GROWTH

The world is changing around us whether we like it or not. Failure to learn, grow and adapt individually or as a team can be detrimental. It’s why we challenge ourselves each year to consider what the future may hold. It’s why Erma is here to support our educational initiatives. It’s why we cannot sit stagnant.

Do you feel you had opportunity to grow this year?

How would you suggest we better prepare ourselves for future growth?

What is your view about growing our team?

We have a tight-knit team that is multi-faceted. What is your ideal preference on team size?

BOUTIQUE IS MY JAM – 6 to 12 key team members – that Typically comes with the need to wear more hats, but these key team members are always on top of their game. I feel comfortable with our current team size and could see it growing a little. Or not.

SPECIALISTS ARE THE WAY – Hire more part-time contractors that take on specific roles but are less present and less sensitive to time and communication. I feel comfortable managing specialists.

LET'S GROW THIS TEAM – 12 to 20 team members – part-time or FULL-TIME Teammates that can support me and our clients with specific roles or tasks. They are on top of day-to-day communications with us on Slack. Like clones of each of us that can manage with or without me.

OTHER – I have a few other thoughts:

A regular salary increase, at least annually. Maybe an occasional, surprise bonus too.

No-questions-asked access to new software, tools, technology, hardware, or anything else needed to work more easily.

More help (team / contractors) to support me and our workload.

More time off. Or regularly scheduled breaks like December, July, and Fridays.
